Erik ten Hag was pleased with Manchester United striker Wout Weghorst’s contribution since his loan from Burnley and was delighted when Weghorst scored his first goal for the club in the Carabao Cup semifinal firstleg win at Nottingham Forest. Weghorst showed a striker’s instinct to pounce on a loose ball before halftime. Marcus Rashford’s sensational opener drew comparisons with Ryan Giggs’ memorable effort in the 1999 FA Cup semifinal replay and Ten Hag believes Rashford is unstoppable in his current form. Forest boss Steve Cooper believes his team can learn from the defeat and is pleased the supporters got the chance to walk into the ground to see their team in a semifinal.
