አዲሱ የሊቀጳጳሳት ሲኖዶስ ወደ ምዕራብ ኦሮሚያ ኤጴስ ቆጶሳትን በመላክ “አስደና እና” ህዝባዊ አቀባበል ተደረገላቸው
በሦስት የተለያዩ ሊቃነ ጳጳሳት እና በ25 ተሿሚ ኤጲስ ቆጶሳት የተቋቋመው አዲሱ “የኦሮሚያ ብሔሮች ብሔረሰቦች እና ብሔረሰቦች ቅዱስ ሲኖዶስ” ከፍተኛ የሕዝብ ድጋፍና አቀባበል ተደርጎለታል። የ26ቱ ኤጲስ ቆጶሳት ሹመት የተካሄደው በቤተ ክርስቲያን ውስጥ ለረጅም ጊዜ የቆዩ ጉዳዮችን ማለትም ምእመናንን በአፍ መፍቻ ቋንቋቸው አለማገልገላቸውና ከባሕላቸው የራቁ ችግሮችን ለመፍታት ነው። ነገር ግን ሹመቱ “ሕገወጥ” በማለት የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ትችት ቢኖርም ጳጳሳቱ በጉዟቸው ሁሉ በጉጉት አቀባበል ተደርጎላቸዋል።
The new “Holy Synod of Oromia and Nations and Nationalities”, formed by three breakaway Archbishops and their 25 appointee episcopate, has received “overwhelming” public support and reception. The appointment of the 26 episcopate was made to resolve longstanding issues within the church, such as failing to serve believers in their native languages and detached from their culture. However, the appointment was called “illegal” by the EOTC Patriarch, who convened an emergency meeting to deal with the event. Despite the criticism, the bishops have been welcomed with enthusiasm throughout their travels.
