Daily walk prevents one in 10 early deaths – study

A new UK analysis suggests that people do not have to play sports or be a runner to feel the benefits of exercise just fitting in a brisk walk is good enough. By doing as little as 11 minutes of daily activity, one in 10 premature deaths could be prevented. Most people fail to do the minimum recommended 150 minutes of physical activity per week. Even doing a half hour of physical activity can prevent one in 20 cases of cardiovascular disease and one in 30 cases of cancer. Regular exercise reduces body fat, blood pressure, and improves heart health, fitness, and sleep. People can try stepping up from doing 75 minutes of physical activity per week gradually to the full recommended amount. It’s not easy to maintain a moderate level of activity recommended by the NHS, however, replacing some habits can work, such as walking or cycling to work or parking the car far from a location to increase the number of steps a person takes. In addition to this, enjoyable activities can be incorporated into weekly routines. The NHS states that adults need to perform activities to strengthen muscles at least twice a week.

አዲስ የዩናይትድ ኪንግደም ትንታኔ እንደሚያመለክተው ሰዎች የአካል ብቃት እንቅስቃሴ ፈጣን የእግር ጉዞ ማድረግ ብቻ በቂ እንደሆነ እንዲሰማቸው ስፖርት መጫወት ወይም ሯጭ መሆን የለባቸውም። በትንሹ የ11 ደቂቃ የእለት ተእለት እንቅስቃሴ በማድረግ ከ10 አንዱ ያለ እድሜ ሞትን መከላከል ይቻላል። ብዙ ሰዎች በሳምንት ቢያንስ የሚመከረውን 150 ደቂቃ የአካል ብቃት እንቅስቃሴ ማድረግ ተስኗቸዋል። የግማሽ ሰዓት የአካል ብቃት እንቅስቃሴ ማድረግ እንኳን ከ20 ቱ የልብና የደም ሥር (cardiovascular) በሽታዎች እና ከ30ኙ ካንሰር አንዱን መከላከል ይችላል። አዘውትሮ የአካል ብቃት እንቅስቃሴ የሰውነት ስብን፣ የደም ግፊትን ይቀንሳል፣ የልብ ጤናን፣ የአካል ብቃት እና እንቅልፍን ያሻሽላል። ሰዎች በሳምንት 75 ደቂቃ የአካል ብቃት እንቅስቃሴን ቀስ በቀስ ወደሚመከረው መጠን ከፍ ለማድረግ መሞከር ይችላሉ። በኤን ኤች ኤስ የሚመከር መጠነኛ የእንቅስቃሴ ደረጃን መጠበቅ ቀላል አይደለም፣ ነገር ግን አንዳንድ ልማዶችን መተካት አንድ ሰው የሚወስዳቸውን እርምጃዎች ለመጨመር እንደ በእግር መሄድ ወይም ብስክሌት መንዳት ወይም መኪናውን ከቦታው ርቆ ማቆምን የመሳሰሉ ሊሰሩ ይችላሉ። ከዚህ በተጨማሪ አስደሳች እንቅስቃሴዎች በሳምንታዊ እንቅስቃሴዎች ውስጥ ሊካተቱ ይችላሉ. ኤን ኤች ኤስ አዋቂዎች በሳምንት ቢያንስ ሁለት ጊዜ ጡንቻዎችን ለማጠናከር እንቅስቃሴዎችን ማከናወን እንዳለባቸው ይናገራል.
