የኢትዮጵያ ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር አብይ አህመድ በአዋሽ አርባ በተካሄደው ወታደራዊ ልምምድ ላይ የተገኙ ሲሆን ባዩት ነገር ተደስተዋል። ልምዱ በምርጥ አየር ሃይል እና በመሬት ሀይል ስራ ላይ ያተኮረ ነበር። አንዳንድ ሃይሎች ራሳቸውን ወደ ፓሮቺያሊዝም እንዲወስዱ ስለሚመርጡ የጦር አዛዦች ዓይናቸውን ከኢትዮጵያ እና ከኢትዮጵያዊነት ላይ እንዳያነሱ አስጠንቅቋል። የወታደራዊ አዛዦች ዋና ተልእኮ ጦርነትን የሚገታ ሃይል መገንባት እንደሆነና ሰላምም በምኞት ብቻ ሊገኝ እንደማይችል ገልጸዋል።

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed attended a military drill in Awash Arba and was pleased with what he saw. The drill focused on elite air force and ground force operation. He warned military commanders not to take their eye off Ethiopia and Ethiopiawinet, as some forces would prefer them to reduce themselves to parochialism. He stated that the main mission of military commanders is to build a force that can deter war and that peace cannot be achieved by wish alone.
