የላይቤሪያው ፕሬዝዳንት ጆርጅ ዊሃ ሞሮኮ የ2025 የአፍሪካ ዋንጫን ለማዘጋጀት ለምታደርገው ጥረት ድጋፋቸውን ገለፁ። ዊሃ ባለፈው ህዳር ወር በሜዴይስ አለም አቀፍ የሰላም መድረክ ላይ ለሞሮኮ ንጉስ ቁርጠኝነት ሰጥቷል። ሞሮኮ በእግር ኳስ ልማት ላይ ያደረገችውን መዋዕለ ንዋይ እና የዓለም ዋንጫ ስኬትን በምክንያትነት ጠቅሷል።
ውድድሩን ለማዘጋጀት አልጄሪያ፣ ደቡብ አፍሪካ፣ ዛምቢያ እና የቤኒን ናይጄሪያ የጋራ ጨረታ ተሳታፊ ናቸው። ከአፍሪካ እግር ኳስ ኮንፌዴሬሽን (ካፍ) የተውጣጣ ቡድን በጨረታው ተሳታፊ የሆኑትን ሀገራት እየጎበኘ ሲሆን አሸናፊው በመጪው የካቲት 10 ይፋ ይሆናል።
Liberian President George Weah has expressed his support for Morocco’s bid to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Weah made his commitment to the King of Morocco at the MEDays international peace forum last November. He cited Morocco’s investment in football development and their World Cup success as reasons for his endorsement. Algeria, South Africa, Zambia and a joint bid from BeninNigeria are also bidding to host the tournament. An inspection team from the Confederation of African Football (Caf) is currently touring the bidding countries and a winner will be announced on February 10.
