በግንቦት 2022 ኢትዮጵያ ብዙ ዓለም አቀፍ ኢንቨስትመንቶችን ለመሳብ እና ኢኮኖሚውን ወደ ግል ለማዘዋወር በሚደረገው ጥረት አካል የሆነው ኢኢኤች የተሰኘ የሉዓላዊ ሀብት ፈንድ አቋቋመች። ኢትዮጵያ በ2024/25 በ50 የተዘረዘሩ ኩባንያዎች የኢትዮጵያን ሴኩሪቲስ ገበያ ልትከፍት ነው። የECMA መስራች አባል የሆኑት አቶ ተስፋዬ ኃይለሚካኤል ለስቶክ ገበያው መጀመር በአካላዊ መሠረተ ልማት ላይ ኢንቨስት በማድረግ ላይ ናቸው። ኢትዮጵያ የስቶክ ገበያን ከመጀመሯ በፊት የመሰረተ ልማት ድጋፍ እና የህብረተሰቡ ግንዛቤ ማሳደግ ያስፈልጋታል። የአክሲዮን ገበያ ጥቅሞች የአክሲዮን ፈሳሽነት፣ ግልጽነት መጨመር፣ የኢኮኖሚ ዕድገት እና የትርፍ ክፍፍል ጥቅሞችን ያጠቃልላል። ኢትዮጵያ የኬንያን ማዕቀፍ በመከተል በስቶክ ገበያ የውጭ ኢንቨስትመንቶችን ለመሳብ ተስፋ አድርጋለች። በትክክለኛ ተነሳሽነት ኢትዮጵያ የአፍሪካ የካፒታል ገበያ ማዕከል መሆን ትችላለች።

In May 2022, Ethiopia established EIH, a sovereign wealth fund, as part of an effort to attract more international investments and privatize the economy. Ethiopia is set to launch the Ethiopian Securities Exchange in 202425, with 50 listed companies. Tesfaye Hailemichael, a founding member of the ECMA, is investing in physical infrastructure in preparation for the stock market launch. Ethiopia needs infrastructure support and increased public awareness before launching the stock market. Benefits of a stock market include stock liquidity, increased transparency, economic growth, and dividend benefits. Ethiopia is following Kenya’s framework and hopes to attract foreign investments through the stock market. With the right initiatives, Ethiopia can become a hub of African capital markets.
