የ INEC ሊቀመንበር ማህሙድ ያኩቡ በእሁድ የናይጄሪያ ምርጫ ውጤቱን እንደሚያሳውቅ ቃል ገብተው ነበር ነገርግን በአንዳንድ ግዛቶች በሎጂስቲክስ ጉዳዮች እና ሁከት ምክንያት አንዳንድ መራጮች አሁንም ድምፃቸውን እየሰጡ ነው። ያኩቡ የፖለቲካ ፓርቲዎች እና ሚዲያዎች ከብሔራዊ መረጃ ማእከል ውጤት እንዲያገኙ አሳስበዋል ። የፖለቲካ ተንታኞች አዲሱ የባዮሜትሪክ ድምጽ አሰጣጥ ስርዓት መዘግየቶችን አስከትሏል እናም የመራጮች ተሳትፎ ከፍተኛ ነው ብለው ያምናሉ። ናይጄሪያ በአፍሪካ ትልቁ ኢኮኖሚ ስትሆን በ2050 ከአለም ሶስተኛዋ በህዝብ ብዛት የምትገኝ ሀገር ትሆናለች ተብሎ ይጠበቃል።

The INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu had promised to announce the results of the Nigerian election on Sunday, but due to logistical issues and violence in some states, some voters were still casting their ballots. Yakubu urged political parties and the media to get results from the National Collation Center. Political analysts believe the new biometric voting system caused delays, and the voter turnout appears to be high. Nigeria is Africa’s largest economy and is expected to be the world’s third most populous nation by 2050.
